Brampton Celebrates International Women’s Day with Inspiring Event at The Rose

BRAMPTON – Brampton came together on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day with an inspiring event at The Rose, where community leaders, artists, and residents gathered to mark the occasion. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, emphasized the urgency of breaking down systemic barriers and biases facing women.

The evening featured a dynamic fireside chat, live performances, and an artist market showcasing women-owned businesses, all aimed at fostering meaningful connections and celebrating the achievements of women in Brampton and beyond.

Mayor Patrick Brown, who attended the event, highlighted the importance of continuing the momentum beyond International Women’s Day. Councillors Navjit Kaur Brar and Rowena Santos were also recognized for their contributions, including powerful words and motivational music that resonated with attendees.

A particularly special moment came when Mayor Brown’s daughter, Savannah, assisted him with his opening remarks, reinforcing the importance of inspiring the next generation in the pursuit of gender equality.

Brampton’s International Women’s Day event served as a reminder of the city’s commitment to empowering women and fostering an inclusive community. As the #AccelerateAction theme suggests, the conversation does not end here—there is still work to be done to break down barriers and create a more equitable society for all.
