Toronto’s offense ignites as pitching steadies in dominant three-game series

SEATTLE — The Toronto Blue Jays completed a commanding three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners over the weekend, outscoring them 21–7 and climbing back to a .500 record (20–20) as they head into a crucial homestand.

Game 1 (Friday, May 9): Blue Jays 6, Mariners 3

Addison Barger led the charge with three doubles and two RBIs, while Bo Bichette added a two-run homer. Starter Bowden Francis delivered 6⅔ innings, allowing three runs and striking out five. The bullpen held firm, with Jeff Hoffman securing his ninth save.

Game 2 (Saturday, May 10): Blue Jays 6, Mariners 3

Toronto rallied from a 3–0 deficit, sparked by Bichette’s two-run homer in the fifth inning. Barger’s RBI single in the eighth broke the tie, and Myles Straw added a two-run single for insurance. Reliever Mason Fluharty earned the win, and Hoffman closed out the game.

Game 3 (Sunday, May 11): Blue Jays 9, Mariners 1

George Springer’s three-run homer in the fifth inning highlighted a 15-hit offensive outburst. Addison Barger contributed his first homer of the season, and Eric Lauer earned the win with 4⅔ innings of scoreless relief. The victory marked Toronto’s first sweep in Seattle since 1991.


What’s Next:
The Blue Jays return to Rogers Centre for a six-game homestand, hosting the Tampa Bay Rays (May 13–15) and the Detroit Tigers (May 16–18). This stretch presents an opportunity for Toronto to build on their momentum and climb the AL East standings.
