Blue Jays Sweep Giants, Extend Home Win Streak to Franchise Record-Tying 10 Games

TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays are catching fire at just the right time.

With Sunday’s 8–6 victory over the San Francisco Giants at Rogers Centre, the Blue Jays completed a three-game sweep and tied the franchise record for consecutive home wins at 10 — a mark last reached in 1985.

Addison Barger launched a pivotal two-run homer in the sixth inning to put Toronto ahead for good, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer each added solo shots. Bo Bichette drove in two more runs with a timely double, capping off a powerful offensive display that has defined the Jays’ recent stretch.

José Berríos (10–5) earned the win after allowing four runs over 5 2/3 innings. Yariel Rodriguez came in for a clean ninth inning to notch the save.

The sweep extends Toronto’s dominance at Rogers Centre this season and solidifies their place atop the American League East with a 58–41 record, three games ahead of the New York Yankees. The Blue Jays’ surge has also raised their playoff odds to approximately 80%, according to league projections.

Interestingly, Toronto’s recent run has caught the attention of analysts, with The Washington Post naming them the “luckiest team in baseball,” citing a win-loss record that has outpaced advanced statistical expectations. Still, fans aren’t complaining — not with the bats heating up and the pitching holding steady.

Up next, the Blue Jays begin a pivotal three-game home series against the Yankees on Monday, with first pitch set for 7:07 p.m. EST. They’ll then head to Detroit for a four-game road trip.

Toronto’s playoff hopes may hinge on their performance over the next few weeks, but for now, this team looks every bit like a contender.
