Blue Jays Defeat Mariners 8–2 in Game 4 to Even ALCS at 2–2
Giménez drives in four as Toronto evens the series in Seattle
SEATTLE — The Toronto Blue Jays pulled even in the American League Championship Series with an 8–2 win over the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on Thursday night, tying the best-of-seven showdown at two games apiece.
Veteran pitcher Max Scherzer set the tone early, giving Toronto a steady, composed performance on the mound. Despite allowing a first-inning run, he regrouped quickly and went on to hold the Mariners to two runs through six innings, mixing sharp fastballs with breaking pitches that kept Seattle’s hitters guessing.

The Blue Jays’ offence once again came alive. Andrés Giménez delivered the biggest swing of the night — a two-run home run in the fourth inning — and later added a pair of RBI singles to finish with four RBIs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added two hits and drove in a run, while Nathan Lukes and Alejandro Kirk each contributed RBI hits that helped Toronto build an 8–1 cushion by the seventh inning.
Seattle managed a late solo homer in the eighth but never threatened a comeback, as Toronto’s bullpen shut the door for the final three innings.
With the victory, the Blue Jays have drawn level in the series (2–2) as play continues in Seattle for Game 5. A win Friday would give Toronto a 3–2 lead heading back to Rogers Centre for the potential clinchers this weekend.
