Mariners Crush Blue Jays 10–3 in Game 2 to Take 2–0 ALCS Lead
Seattle’s bats explode as Toronto’s pitching falters at Rogers Centre
TORONTO — The Seattle Mariners powered their way to a commanding 10–3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night at Rogers Centre, taking a 2–0 lead in the American League Championship Series.
Toronto’s hopes of evening the series slipped away as Seattle’s offence erupted midway through the game. Jorge Polanco continued his hot postseason streak, blasting a three-run home run in the fifth inning — his third go-ahead hit of the series — to put the Mariners in control.
Rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage, coming off a record-setting ALDS debut, struggled this time out, allowing five runs before being lifted early. Toronto briefly rallied in the sixth when George Springer doubled and later scored on an infield single from Nathan Lukes. Alejandro Kirk followed with an RBI single to make it 6–3, but the Mariners bullpen shut the door from there.

Seattle piled on more runs late to put the game out of reach, capitalizing on Toronto’s bullpen miscues and defensive lapses. The Blue Jays’ lineup, which had been electric during the Division Series, managed only sporadic hits and never fully recovered.
With the win, Seattle seized complete momentum as the series heads west. Toronto will now face a must-win Game 3 in Seattle, where Shane Bieber is expected to start for the Blue Jays against George Kirby.
The Mariners now stand two wins away from their first World Series appearance since 2001, while Toronto will need to regroup quickly to avoid elimination.
