Toronto’s offense stifled as Rangers capitalize late to even series
ARLINGTON, TX — The Toronto Blue Jays were shut out 2–0 by the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night, May 27, at Globe Life Field. The loss drops the Blue Jays to 26–28 on the season.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the eighth inning. With two outs, Josh Jung delivered an RBI single to center field, scoring pinch runner Sam Haggerty. Moments later, Wyatt Langford scored on a throwing error by catcher Alejandro Kirk, extending the Rangers’ lead to 2–0.

Toronto starter Bowden Francis pitched five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out four. Rangers’ starter Nathan Eovaldi exited after two innings due to right triceps fatigue but is not expected to miss his next start.
The Blue Jays managed just four hits in the game, with George Springer and Bo Bichette each contributing singles. Closer Robert Garcia secured the save for Texas, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning.
