Barlow’s Hat Trick Lifts Generals Over Steelheads in Game 1 Showdown

OSHAWA – The Oshawa Generals came out firing in their playoff opener Friday night, defeating the Brampton Steelheads 7-4 at the Tribute Communities Centre to take a 1-0 lead in their first-round OHL series.

Colby Barlow led the way for the Generals with a dominant four-point performance, notching a hat trick and an assist. Beckett Sennecke added two goals and a helper, while Ben Danford and Brooks Rogowski chipped in with a goal apiece as Oshawa lit the lamp four times in the opening period to set the tone early.

For Brampton, Angus MacDonell answered with a hat trick of his own, keeping the Steelheads within reach. Carson Rehkopf added a power-play goal, but the Generals’ early surge proved too much to overcome.

Game 2 is set for Sunday, March 30, in Oshawa, with Brampton looking to bounce back and even the series.
