Advance Voter Turnout for TDSB Ward 11 By-Election Reaches 1,028

TORONTO – A total of 1,028 voters participated in advance voting for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) Ward 11 (Don Valley West) by-election, according to Toronto Elections.

Advance voting took place over two days, with 586 voters casting their ballots on Saturday, February 22, and 442 voters doing so on Sunday, February 23.

Election Day Details Election day is set for Monday, March 3, with 18 designated voting locations open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eligible voters must cast their ballots at their assigned voting places, with details available on the Toronto Elections webpage at www.toronto.ca/MyVote.

Voters must present identification showing their name and qualifying Ward 11 address to receive a ballot. While not mandatory, voters are encouraged to bring their Voter Information Card (VIC) to facilitate the process. Those who were on the voters’ list by February 6 received a mailed VIC and can also access a digital version online.

Understanding the VIC The VIC provides information on where and when to vote but is not an acceptable form of identification for voting. Eligible voters who were not on the voters’ list by February 6 can still vote by registering at their assigned voting place on election day with proper identification.

Unofficial Results Expected by 9 P.M. on March 3 Unofficial by-election results, including vote totals from advance, mail-in, and election day ballots, are expected to be available on the Toronto Elections webpage starting at approximately 9 p.m. on March 3. Previous by-election results can be accessed via the City of Toronto’s Open Data webpage.

Third Party Advertiser Registration Closes February 28 Individuals, corporations, or trade unions intending to spend money to support or oppose a candidate in the by-election must register as third-party advertisers. Registration closes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 28, and must be completed in person at the Toronto Elections office at City Hall. Only certified third-party advertisers may spend money on campaigns, accept contributions, or begin advertising.
