Kia Canada Announces Pricing for All-Electric 2027 PV5 Commercial Van

2027 Kia PV5 Pricing starts at $46,995 as Kia Canada enters the electric commercial vehicle market

TORONTO — Kia Canada has announced Canadian pricing for the 2027 Kia PV5, the automaker’s first dedicated commercial electric cargo vehicle and a key addition to its growing Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy.

The all-electric PV5 is designed specifically for business and fleet customers, offering a flexible commercial transportation solution that can be customized to meet a variety of operational needs. Kia says the launch expands its electric vehicle portfolio into a new segment while reinforcing its position in Canada’s growing EV market.

“Kia continues to demonstrate their commitment to being a mobility solutions provider by extending our product offering to support the needs of business customers too,” said David Sherrard, Director of Strategic Planning at Kia Canada.

“The PV5 is yet another affordable option the company is introducing in 2026 that expands EV ownership to businesses where they can help reduce fleet running costs.”

Designed for Business

The two-passenger cargo van is powered by a 71.2-kWh battery pack and features a North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port, allowing compatibility with Tesla’s charging network and other NACS-equipped infrastructure.

According to Kia, the PV5 can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 30 minutes under ideal DC fast-charging conditions and offers an estimated driving range of up to 360 kilometres on a full charge.

The vehicle is equipped with a standard heat pump to help maintain efficiency in varying Canadian weather conditions.

Cargo Capacity and Fleet Utility

Built around commercial practicality, the PV5 offers:

  • Approximately 5,016 litres of cargo volume
  • Payload capacity of up to 1,631 pounds
  • 2,995-millimetre wheelbase
  • Low cargo floor with a 419-millimetre step-in height
  • Wide-opening rear cargo doors with opening angles ranging from 95 to 180 degrees

Kia says the platform can be adapted for a variety of commercial applications, including delivery, service, maintenance, and specialized fleet operations.

The entry-level PV5 Basic comes equipped with a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including:

  • Blind Spot Collision Avoidance
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Forward Collision Avoidance Assist
  • Highway Driving Assist
  • Front and Rear Parking Sensors

Technology features include:

The upgraded PV5 Plus trim adds:

  • Surround View Monitor
  • Blind Spot View Monitor
  • Wireless phone charging
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality
  • Heated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel

Pricing and Availability

Kia has structured pricing so that all PV5 trims qualify for Canada’s Electric Vehicle Affordability Program, potentially reducing the purchase price by up to $5,000.

Trim MSRP All-In Price
Kia PV5 Basic $46,995 $49,744
Kia PV5 Plus $49,095 $51,844

The all-in pricing includes freight, air conditioning charges, and applicable fees but excludes taxes, licensing, and insurance.

Coming to Canada Later This Year

The 2027 Kia PV5 is expected to arrive in Canada during the fourth quarter of 2026, with additional specifications and upfit options expected to be announced closer to launch.

The launch represents Kia’s latest effort to expand electric mobility beyond consumer vehicles and into commercial applications as businesses increasingly seek lower operating costs and reduced emissions.
