2026 Toyota RAV4: Fully Electrified and Fully Redesigned for the Road Ahead

Three New Styles, Two Electrified Powertrains, One Iconic SUV

Toyota has officially pulled the cover off the all-new, sixth-generation 2026 RAV4, marking a bold new chapter for America’s best-selling compact SUV. With a complete redesign and a shift to 100% electrified powertrains, the new RAV4 offers hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options across a versatile lineup built for efficiency, style, and performance.

Launching later this year, the 2026 RAV4 will be available in three distinct design styles—Core, Rugged, and Sport—across seven grades, including two exciting new additions: a GR SPORT model tuned by Toyota GAZOO Racing and an upgraded Woodland grade designed for adventurous terrain.

Performance Gets a Power Boost

Toyota is upping the ante on performance across both powertrains. The PHEV system now delivers up to 320 horsepower and a 50-mile all-electric range—a 20% increase over the previous generation. Meanwhile, the HEV gets Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, raising power to 236 hp on AWD models and introducing FWD variants for the first time with 226 hp.

Every PHEV model will come with standard AWD, and top trims like the Woodland and XSE will support DC fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in about 30 minutes. Towing capacity reaches up to 3,500 lbs on select AWD trims.

Design: Core, Rugged, Sport

  • Core (LE, XLE, Limited): Defined by a refined hammerhead grille and a modern SUV stance, Core models blend utility and urban appeal.

  • Rugged (Woodland): Geared for outdoor adventuring, the Woodland grade boasts higher ground clearance, all-terrain tires, roof rails, and a split grille with integrated LED lights.

  • Sport (SE, XSE, GR SPORT): Performance-focused models offer 20-inch wheels, GR-tuned handling, spoilers, and bold two-tone exterior options. The GR SPORT, available exclusively as a PHEV, is the sportiest RAV4 ever.

Next-Gen Interior & Tech

Inside, Toyota has redesigned the cabin for simplicity and sophistication. Highlights include:

  • Standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster

  • Optional 12.9-inch touchscreen with digital HVAC controls

  • Toyota’s new Arene software platform, powering Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 and an improved Toyota Audio Multimedia system

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, dual Bluetooth® connectivity, and available Head-Up Display

  • Optional JBL® Premium Audio and upscale materials like SofTex®, microsuede, and BRIN•NAUB®

Electrification and Choice

All 2026 RAV4 models will be either HEV or PHEV, with no conventional gas-only models offered. Toyota is emphasizing customer flexibility, offering both FWD and AWD across most hybrid grades and standard AWD for all plug-in models.

Available Grades by Design:

  • Core: LE, XLE, Limited (HEV only)

  • Rugged: Woodland (HEV & PHEV)

  • Sport: SE, XSE (HEV & PHEV), GR SPORT (PHEV only)

Warranty & ToyotaCare

Toyota backs the 2026 RAV4 with:

  • 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty

  • 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty

  • 8-year/100,000-mile hybrid component warranty

  • 10-year/150,000-mile hybrid battery warranty (transferable)

  • ToyotaCare, which covers scheduled maintenance for 2 years/25,000 miles and roadside assistance for 2 years/unlimited miles
